Leaf spots can be caused by several genera of fungi. Leaf spots caused by cercospora and septoria are controlled with sprays of benomyl. Most years, the leaf spots are not a problem.

Powdery mildews of different genera may attack fringe tree. Use benomyl according to label directions.
