Spider flowers are large plants ranging from three to four feet tall. The flowers are generally white or pink. Their best use is at the back of the flower border or as a temporary hedge. Flowering is from mid-summer to late autumn. Provide a loamy soil kept on the dry side. The plant responds to regular watering and fertilizing.
The seeds germinate in one to two weeks at 70 to 75 degrees. The seed may be planted directly into the garden. Do not cover the seed but press it into the soil. Pinch young plants to keep them short and space them 12 to 14 inches apart.
