Coleus has brightly colored foliage. In fall, house plants may be obtained by digging and potting garden plants. High light intensity is needed for best leaf color. Keep the soil evenly moist and a use house plant fertilizer according to label directions. Grow coleus at temperatures between 60 and 85 degrees. When flower buds develop pinch them off. Pinching may be necessary to prevent leggy plants.
Propagation is by stem tip cuttings taken at any time, or by seeds germinated with bottom heat.
