Katsura tree grows best in a sunny exposure and in a moist soil. The tree reaches a mature height and spread of 50 to 60 feet. The fall color is yellow with some red and the new growth is reddish. The tree has a shallow root system and may be hard to transplant. Katsura tree has a spreading habit and makes a good shade tree. The growth rate is rapid when young but slows down with age. Katsura tree has proven to be fairly pest free.
