Goldenraintree grows 20 to 35 feet tall. Although weak wooded, it is rarely attacked by pests and grows in a wide range of soils. Goldenraintree tolerates dryness and casts little shade before early June. The tree grows slowly and bears large panicles of yellow flowers in late July or early August when few other trees bloom. The seed pods look like brown chinese lanterns.
One cultivar is listed; 'Fastigiata'--upright growth habit.
