Lavatera--Lavater, Tree Mallow

Lavatera produces large pink or white flowers from May to July. The blooming period is longest when seed formation is prevented. The plant tolerates most soil as long as it is not too wet or cold. The preferred light exposure is full sun. Lavatera may not do well during hot weather.

The seed can be sown directly into the garden with germination coming in 15 to 20 days at 70 degrees. Space plants 18 inches apart.
