Magnolia sieboldi--Oyama Magnolia

Oyama magnolia grows best in a cool, semi-shaded growing area with an acid soil. The tree is of questionable hardiness in Michigan. The tree blooms when quite young and flowers over a several week period. The fragrant, cup shaped flowers are borne in summer and crimson stamen contrast with the white petals.
