Pelargonium hortorum - Geranium

Garden geraniums may be potted and grown as house plants. Use a sunny area such as a south or west window. Geranium needs a well drained soil mix, allowed to dry slightly between waterings. Use a house plant fertilizer according to label directions. Although geranium requires sun it also likes cool temperatures. Ideal temperatures are 65 to 70 degrees during the day and 60 to 65 degrees at night. Geraniums prefer to be potbound. Flowering is best in good light. Odema will be a problem in winter. Too much shade and nitrogen causes lush growth but few flowers.

Propagation is by stem tip cuttings.
