Creeping phlox forms mats which produce a profusion of blooms in April or May. The plants are suitable for rock gardens, ground covers or for walls. The plants benefit from fertilization and usually require much water.
Propagation is by division of non-woody stems in early spring. Stem cuttings may be taken in summer or fall.
