Roses, Climbing -- Winter Protection

The editors of Old-House Interiors magazine

There is no surefire way to protect climbing roses throughout the winter with the exception of laying the canes on the ground and covering with soil.

Protection may somewhat be given by wrapping canes with tree wrap or burlap, and mounding soil at the base of the plant.
