Senecio cruentus - Cineraria

Cineraria is enjoyed while in bloom then discarded. Keep the soil moist, as the plant wilts dramatically when too dry. Seed grown plants need liquid fertilizer after the flower buds show. Cineraria likes cool temperatures and exposure to full sun. Flower initiation requires 14 weeks of day temperatures of 60 to 70 degrees and night temperatures of 50 to 55 degrees. The growth rate slows down in December.

Propagation is by seed.
