Arrowwood grows best in sun or partial shade and tolerates any garden soil. The plant grows fairly rapidly and transplants well. The mature height is 6 to 10 feet, with a spread of 6 to 15 feet. The small, white flowers are produced in late spring in 2- to 4-inch clusters. Small, dark blue fruits are produced in late summer and are eaten by birds. The fall color is red to reddish purple.
