General House Cleaning Tips

If you are one of the few people that enjoy cleaning house, bless you! If you're like the rest of us, you do not enjoy cleaning. Unfortunately it is something that has to be done by everyone, unless you hire someone (who can afford it?).These general house cleaning tips should give you some ideas on how to best tackle the job, and how to make any chore not such a chore.

General house cleaning tips; make a cleaning schedule

One of the most important house cleaning tips out there is to make a cleaning schedule. The best way to do this is to sit down and make a list of every cleaning-related chore to be done, including cleaning the refrigerator and stove. There are certain chores that need to be done every day, some every week, and some every six months or so, and some of these vary from family to family. In homes with small children, laundry and dishes have to be done every day, maybe twice or more a day. A good way to divide the chores is to go room by room; if you clean the kitchen every Monday, for example, you can avoid anything but spot cleaning until the following week. Another way to divide chores is to assign the individual chores to a day, for example, laundry and vacuuming on Sunday, dusting on Monday, vacuuming on Wednesday, etc.

General house cleaning tips; keep supplies handy

One of best house cleaning tips for decreasing the time spent on each room is to keep your supplies handy. A lot of time is wasted running back and forth, looking for a cleaning towel you need, or for the dust spray-which is under the sink and you're upstairs. So, once you've completed your cleaning schedule and are ready to get down to business, simply fill some type of bucket or caddy with all of your cleaning supplies you will need for either the job or the room. You will be surprised at how much time you save.
