Cook a three-pound chicken in 20 minutes or bake a whole potato in 10 minutes with GE's Advantium oven with speedcook technology. Using 4,500-watt halogen lights together with microwaves, the oven cooks food evenly and in about one quarter the time of conventional ovens.

Unlike traditional ovens, no preheating is needed. It's preprogrammed to cook 100 of America's favorite dishes and you can add your own recipes. A dedicated 240-volt line is required. Retail price for this 30" wall oven is $2,049 (December 2004).
