Slate countertops can endure typical kitchen abuses without suffering damage. Hot pots and pans won't harm slate and minor scratches can be rubbed out. A low absorption rate of this 500 million-year-old stone means it is naturally stain resistant. Maintenance is easy, requiring only an occasional application of mineral oil.
This slate countertop is offered in eight color combinations, including subtle reds, greens, purples and grays, ranging in thicknesses of 1-1/4" to 1-1/2". Maximum slab size is 3'10" by 7'6".
