Decking: Exotic plastic

Composite plastic lumber has come a long way in the past decade. Industrial grays have been replaced by colors that mimic real wood. Trex's new Brasilia offering looks like tropical hardwood. Unlike wood, however, it's impervious to the ravages of time and climate. Subtle shadings and patterns add to the look of wood. The smooth surface won't splinter and the material can be fashioned into curves and patterns. Available in two wood shades, Brasilia comes in narrow or wide decking and is complemented by a complete line of posts, balusters, rails and caps.
