African blackwood raised square splines and pegs of different sizes give the distinctive Greene & Greene look to this Blacker House Dining Chair from the new Stickley Pasadena Bungalow Collection.
The chair is names for the Robert R. Blacker house in Pasadena, another of the five masterworks designed by the Greene brothers between 1907-1909. The chair is crafted from solid sapelli wood and has a pierced back splat with raised flower heads and incised stems.
All corners are rounded, and through-tenon construction ensures durability and solidity. Incised carving and brackets adorn the cair legs and a center stretcher. A pinned cloud lift motif decorates the back seat rail.
