Don't worry about slipping into this koi pond -- it's actually a handpainted floor cloth. Popular for hundreds of years, canvas floor cloths are again becoming fashionable. Floor cloths can be custom designed to match your walls, curtains or floors or painted with fanciful designs.
After the pattern is painted, the canvas cloth is protected with a flexible, non-yellowing sealant and topcoated with a layer of bowling alley wax. The company recommends a waffle pad be placed under the floor cloth to cushion it and extend its life.
To clean, use mild soap and warm water. The bowling alley wax should be renewed annually. Price ranges from $15 - $18 per square foot. April 2005.
