Picture your favorite toddler in this reproduction rocking chair, based on an original 1820s rocker found in Boston. Ma?tre ?b?niste (Master Cabinetmaker) W. Godziemba-Maliszewski handcrafts each chair using old and rare lumber. The chair pictured is made from antique padauk (also known as Vermillion). Other wood options include tortoise-shell mahogany, wormy chestnut, French walnut and curly koa. Expect to pay $3,500 to $5,500 for this heirloom piece (October 2004).
