Garage doors from the Vintage line of Designer Doors look like old-fashioned carriage house doors, but operate like their modern counterparts. The company will work with you to custom create a door for your old house.
Framework is 1-3/8" Douglas fir, which the manufacturer says resists warping and sagging. Exterior-grade plywood is used as a backer to enclose the framework and insulation, giving a finished appearance to the interior of the garage. For those who believe the beauty on the inside is important, the company offers an upgrade backer of western red cedar beadboard, V-groove board or custom material.
