Working with the SPNEA (Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities), California Paints developed a listing of the 149 most popular paint colors of different architectural periods. Their Fres~Coat exterior paint products, available in Velvet Flat and Satin Gloss, are mildew resistant and can be applied over wood, masonry, aluminum or vinyl siding, galvanized metal or asbestos shingles.

You can opt for the historic paint palettes, or using their computer-aided custom color matching, you can match and mix 2500 color options. One gallon of Velvet Flat exterior paint (white) is $25.40 and Satin Gloss is $27.40 (prices may vary regionally).
