It might not win a beauty contest, but this accordion storm shutter will protect your windows from hurricane and even tornado winds.

Accordion shutters can be mounted on new or old buildings, inside or out. They do require some stacking space (a 72" wide window requires 12" for storage of the closed shutter).

The manufacturer admits that this is "not the most attractive product" but it has been wind- and impact-tested against tornado-force winds. Choose from white, ivory, beige or bronze.
