Celadon Ceramic Slate combines the thickness, texture and color of natural slate with the fired-in strength and durability of ceramic tile for an affordably priced alternative to natural slate. Priced lower than natural slate and just slightly above synthetic slate offered by competitors, Celadon is guaranteed for 50 years not to chip, break or fade. At 598 lbs. per square, the tiles are about a third the weight of natural slate, Ludowici says, and need no additional roof deck support.
The ceramic slates are available in a range of colors that replicate natural slate. Custom hip and ridge tiles, a gable rake accessory and half-slates are also available.
