Antique Bricks: From trash to treasure

The Old House Web
Victorian charmerFor a delightful, one-of-a-kind wall or barbecue consider these clinker bricks from Historical Bricks.

Originally discarded because they were discolored or distorted, the clinker bricks were discovered by Craftsman architects looking for distinctive and charming materials. The name "clinker-brick" comes from the sound that they would make when banged together, being heavier than regular bricks. These bricks, which have never been used, were reclaimed from an abandoned brickyard in Indiana.

The company also offers antique bricks and cobblestones reclaimed from buildings and streets throughout the United States. They can be used for driveways, walkways, floors, walls, and other stone masonry projects
