Screen Doors: Solid wood screen doors in historic patterns and sizes

Rosemary Thornton, contributing editor
Victorian charmerThese reproduction screen doors may cost a bit more than new alumnium ones, but they can be the perfect finishing touch for a beautiful old home.

Each door is handcrafted from pine with joints reinforced with hardwood dowels. Master carpenter and company owner Len Sherritt designs the doors based on patterns dating from 1830 to the early part of the 20th century. Options include round-top screen doors and storm glass panels. Prices range from $369 - $1,250 (June 2004).
