The Aste 638 is a higher end jigsaw with a variable speed motor that cuts at 1050 - 2600 strokes per minute for precision cuts.

Weighing only 4.9 pounds, this jigsaw can slice through stainless steel, sheet metal, aluminum, plastic and wood (up to 2-3/8" thick). On wood, the radius of its smallest curve cut is 1/4" and metal is 5/16". Price is $756 (September 2004).
