Glass blocks provide privacy and light but their installation can be a bit complex. Windecor window tiles are made of acrylic and designed to look like glass block. The 3/8" thick tiles can be applied directly over existing glass and are secured with a 1/16" bead of silicone sealant. According to the manufacturer, an air pocket within each tile provides additional insulation. Adequate material to cover 768 square inches costs $34.95 per box (of 8" x 8" tiles). (September 2004)
