Why infrared as opposed to a heat gun's stream of hot air? According to the manufacturer, infrared heat is quicker and less costly to operate, while causing less damage to wood and creating less of a fire danger.
The price of this tool, including a carrying case and a support bar,is $465 (Sept. 2004).
