Andersens Series 400 double-hung windows offer the look of wood inside and the durability vinyl outside. The inside sash is natural wood, while the exterior frame is clad with preformed vinyl. The exterior is available in four colors - white, sandstone, brown or green. Sills are made with a wood core and a composite exterior. Sill ends are sealed with weather-resistant covers. Interior wood choices include pine, oak, maple or a pre-finished white. The sash exterior is made from a patented composite material. Windows also have a tilt-wash feature to make them easier to clean.
Series 400 windows are available with several types of low-e glass, including tempered glass, in sizes that range from 1'9" wide and 3' tall to 3'9" wide and 6'4" tall. Custom sizes also are available. In November 2004, a window measuring 3'x 4'6" cost $247.
