With 5,000 pounds of squashing power, this compactor reduces trash to about one-fourth its original size. It can be built into your kitchen cabinets or used as a stand-alone unit, with an optional wooden cutting board for the top. The front panel is finished in polished stainless steel (shown in picture). It's also offered with reversible front panels of black/biscuit, black/white or black/almond. This 1.4 cubic foot compacter measures 12" wide, 34-1/2" high and 20-1/4 deep. Retail price is a little less than $500 (November 2004).
