Sandpaper: Aluminum oxide sandpaper

3M's 210N sandpaper is an economical, general purpose sandpaper designed for dry sanding wood. Made from aluminum oxide bonded to paper backing, it's available in grits from 80 through 220. Aluminum oxide is hard, tough synthetic mineral that can be used on a variety of materials. However, it does not have an anti-clog coating that would prevent loading when sanding off old paint or working on resinous softwoods. In December 2004, a 9 in. by 11 in. sheet cost about 30 cents.
