Victorian charmerThis cooktop element provides all the best features of induction cooking in a compact, portable unit. It has nine levels of heating power (120 - 420 degrees), a timer (up to 99 minutes), auto-shut off and overheat protection.

Induction cooking uses electromagnetic energy, transferring heat directly to pots and pans. Induction-compatible (ferrous) pans must be used. It measures 12" by 2.5" by 14" and is offered in black or white. Price is $139 (December 2004).
