Glass Tile: Dances with light

The Old House Web
Victorian charmerPrisms of light dance off the textured jewel surface of the cast glass in this fireplace surround by Crossville. Illuminescence is made by pressing molten glass into shapes to yield a tile with depth and vibrancy. Light bends, twists and reflects in ever-changing patterns.

The cornerstone of the tile series is prism glass, a 3" x 3" textured tile. Thin lines of glass, listellos, and tiny 1" jewel tiles are used to form mosiacs and patterns. Illuminescence is available in 27 varieties of clear, frosted and irridescent colors. The glass can be used in a variety of indoor applications from kitchen backsplashes to shower enclosures.
