Floor Cloths: Canvas gems

Before vacuum cleaners and plush carpets there were floor cloths. Made from heavyweight canvas, floor cloths offer a layer of protection in heavy traffic areas and also add a bit of style and pizzazz. Choose from a variety of styles, designs and colors. These floor cloths are custom made on canvas, which is primed and painted with eight layers (or more) of latex paint. A topcoat of varnish is applied to protect the paint and nonskid material is applied to the backside. Lead time is about six weeks and prices range from $300 (3' by 5') to $1,980 (9' by 11'), or about $20 a square foot (April 2005).
