In the 1950s and 60s, the words "portable fireplace" conjured up an image of a cardboard fireplace that dad hauled out of the attic for the Christmas holidays. This new portable fireplace relies on fiber optic technology to mimic the appearance and movement of a crackling fire.
Originally designed for assisted living facilities, the "fire" is quiet, safe and heat-free. The color comes from the bottom up, and produces flickering flames of orange, red and yellow. The wooden mantel is offered in a variety of veneers and stains.
