This Arts & Crafts style desk has a classic American look, but it's made with teak that's been salvaged from faraway places such as Java and Indonesia.
After nails are removed from the wood (salvaged from demolished buildings), it is processed into furniture grade material. Splotches of paint are sometimes visible on the underside of the furniture, remnants from former lives as houses.
