Dating back to 1850, these chimney cupboards originally provided extra storage on either side of a fireplace. Now they can be part of your kitchen, living room, or whatever.

Based in Eastern Pennsylvania, this company reclaims lumber and wood parts from buildings from the 1700s onward. What began as one man's quest to keep vintage barns, timber frame homes and other historic structures out of the landfill evolved into a full-fledged salvage business.
