Furnaces: Heatwave

Rosemary Thornton, contributing editor
Victorian charmerWaste not, want not, especially when it comes to heating oil. This 150,000 BTU furnace burns about 1.1 gallons of used fuel oil per hour and heats about 1,500 square feet.

The square, 270 gallon tank is made with 14 gage steel and comes with stand (as shown). Furnace and tank have a ten-year warranty.

If this furnace is a little too big for your shop or garage, a smaller 100,000 BTU furnace (Heatwave Model 100) will be available in Spring 2006.

  • Product: Heatwave Model 150
  • Price, including tank and stand is $5,080 (December 2005)
  • The smaller Heatwave Model 100 will sell for about $4,000, including tank and stand (Spring 2006).
