Reclaimed Lumber: Table Talk

Rosemary Thornton, contributing editor
Victorian charmerWood salvaged from vintage barns and outbuildings gets a second life as this table. The wood is milled and kiln-dried (to kill old and new bugs).

Aged lumber retains both its patina and imperfections, such as nail holes, some weathering and occasionally even old red or white paint remnants.

Choose from pine, hemlock or oak in lengths of three to fifteen feet and widths of four to twelve inches.

  • American Barn Siding Rustic Wood Planks cost $7.50 per square foot (white pine) and up (January 2006).
