Hand Forged Hardware: Foliated Hinges

Foliated H Hinges date back to the Colonial era, so originals are hard to come by. The ornamental leafage at the top and bottom (the foliated part) required a little extra time on the blacksmith's anvil.

Shown here is a reproduction of that 18th Century hardware, hand forged on a blacksmith's anvil.

An 8" hinge is shown here, but custom orders are an option.

Foliated H Hinges shown here are 8" tall.

Cost is $60 (January 2006).
