Flooring: Chestnut Remilled

In the early 1900s, a blight killed off most of the chestnut trees in America, but this Connecticut-based woodworking shop offers chestnut flooring, salvaged from old buildings and remilled.

The butt-edge boards are random lengths and widths, averaging 2' to 12' long and 3" to 12" wide.

For an additional fee, the boards can be milled into tongue and groove.

Resawn Chestnut Flooring starts at $12.50 per square foot (May 2006).

Dimensions: 3" to 12" wide, 2' to 12' feet long.
