Candle Holders: Colonial Light

Rosemary Thornton, contributing editor
Victorian charmerA reproduction of a Colonial design, this candlestick holder is handcrafted at a small blacksmith shop near Pueblo, Colorado. The mild steel is heated to 2,000 degrees and placed on an anvil and hammered, blow by blow, into the shape seen here.

The tools and techniques used to create this piece are the same as a blacksmith would have employed 200 years ago.

  • Colonial Style Candle Holder is $35 (May 2006).
