Stools: A Little Lift

Rosemary Thornton, contributing editor
Victorian charmerMarian the Librarian, the bookish character from The Music Man, would have loved this Library Browsing Stool. It's based on original designs of the early 1900s and made with 1-1/4" quarter-sawn white oak.

All joints are doweled and hardware is cast brass. Each piece is hand-finished. With its sturdy build, it can also double as a footrest.

  • Library Browsing Stool is $495 (May 2006).
  • Dimensions: 20" x 14" top, 13" high.
