This air cleaner uses a vortex action to circulate the air and capture minute particulate matter. A carbon pre-filter removes funky household odors and traps larger matter. A HEPA filter takes care of airborne contaminants such as pollen, dust mites, mold spores and anything else that's bigger than .3 microns. According to the manufacturer, the cleaner removes 99.97% of airborne matter. In a 12' square room, it will change the air eight times per hour. This model provides coverage for rooms up to 395 square feet.
