Plants: Grand Primo

Rosemary Thornton, contributing editor
Victorian charmerThis delicate-looking flower is sturdy, sweet-smelling and long lasting. Known as a "Grand Primo," it has a bloom height of 12" or more and doesn't require any fertilization.

The bulbs will never need dividing (as do daffodils) and deer and other hungry critters won't want to nibble on its tender leaves.

According to the company that sells the Grand Primo, this flower will thrive in most Southern climes.

  • Grand Primo (Narcissus tazetta) bulbs are $5 each (June 2006).
