Metal cabinets topped with porcelain enamel sinks and drainboards were all the rage in the mid-1900s. Now they're in vogue again, but unfortunately many were tossed on the scrap heap to make way for modern cabinets.
Salvage companies report steady demand and high prices for the old-fashioned kitchen setups. This cabinet and double-drainboard in pristine condition is selling for $1,200 (July 2006).
