Rosemary Thornton, contributing editor
Victorian charmerExtend the summer fun of gardening into the early fall by planting these Darwin Hybrid Tulips. According to the manufacturer, the bulbs will produce five years of blooms, with bulbs and blossoms increasing years one through three.

Like most bulbs, they should be planted in the fall for spring blooms, fertilized and given minimal water in the summer months.

  • 24 Darwin Hybrid Tulip bulbs are $12 (July 2006).
