This fruitcake has been making an annual visit to the fair since its original owner died. It was created in this very pyrex dish in 1931 by Nettie Hawkins. The cake was displayed each Christmas at the N.E. Hawkins store in Etchinson, MD. No one quite remembers when it started making its pilgrimmage to the county fair, but this 3-year-old's grandmother says she looks for it every year.
