Reclaimed floors are made from wood that is truly old - as opposed to new wood that has been distressed or stained to appear old. Sources of old wood include timbers and flooring removed from old buildings that are being demolished, as well as old-growth trees that were cut in the 19th century but sank onto river or lake bottoms during log drives.
