Permanent Impress
The subject of this design is a pantry/laundry room, which can be seen from the kitchen.
Pocket doors, which enclose the washer and dryer behind cabinet doors, dont obstruct the hallway when open. The outer wall of the area was removed to open it to the hall. Inner walls were built to partially conceal the open shelves of the walk-in pantry area. A coffee maker is accessible from the outside of the wall and the inside of the pantry. Double-entry glass door cabinets are on display at the open area of the pantry.
This room earned a second-place award in the other rooms category of the National Kitchen and Bath Association's 2003 Design Competition.
